CHOIR
REHERSAL CANCELED
Hello
tall of you Song
Birds
As
you may have guessed by now I am canceling choir
for this week. The forecast is once again ominous and
the side roads are still atrocious. With the approach of
more snow and/or freezing
rain - it will make conditions much much too dangerous to
be walking or driving out and about at night.
Soooooooo
---- as much as I hate this because of the new music I am so
excited about ---------- I am going to cancel now so that I won't
have to worry about it tomorrow and Wednesday. And with the Ash
Wednesday rehearsal already having been called off -----
our next rehearsal will not be until Wednesday
the 24th at 7:30 since it will follow the Lenten
Study.
I
would appreciate your letting me know that you get this ---- even
if it's just a "GOT IT" sent back by return email.
That way I will know when all have been informed. I will
call Shirley.
Stay
safe and warm and pray pray pray for a SLOW thaw.
INFORMATION
FOR FEBRUARY 14TH
WORSHIP
SERVICE
Dear
Friends,
As
I miss gathering with all of you in worship this morning, I want you
all to know that I have remembered you in prayer and truly miss
gathering at table to share the Lord's
Supper. But we are always bound together in Spirit no
matter where we are and that truly God's love is the blessed tie that
binds us together in Christian love.
I
want to get out another few announcements in response to several
questions that have been sent my way. The Worship Leader/Participant
schedule will NOT be pushed back as we did in
December. We will keep the schedule as is for February 14th.
Next Sunday's worship schedule will be:
SUNDAY,
FEBRUARY 14TH
Worship
Leader: Kim Byard
Acolyte:
Connor Mayer
Elder
(Bread): Emily Mayer
Elder
(Cup): Sally Horn
Elder
On Call: JoAnne Malatinsky
Deacon:
Brenda Mayer and Connor Mayer
Deacon:
Dave Byard and Stacy Hornick
Scripture:
Dave Byard ------ (Gospel) Luke
9:28-36
Scripture:
Brendan Byard ---------- Exodus
34:29-35
Message
Scripture: 2
Corinthians 3:12-4:2
Bulletin
Theme: Where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is Freedom.
Also
next Sunday of course is SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY - ONE WEEK
REMOVED
Even though we will already know the winner of this year's game (GO
SAINTS) we will still be able to enjoy delicious soups,
salads desserts and fellowship. The offering we receive at that
meal will go to the national Souper Bowl of Caring's project of
benefiting local soup
kitchens - and thus go to the Soup Kitchen in
Wheeling. We are asking you to either bring a pot of soup if you
are so inclined - or a salad of some sort - or a yummy dessert.
We will need this time of fellowship after having been apart during
this inclement weather.
Beginning
Wednesday, February 24th @ 6:30 p.m.
we will begin a 5 week Lenten study on being clay in the Potter's
hand. This study will lead us up to Holy
Week and a Seder Supper that will be observed on Maundy
Thursday, April 1st. More information will follow
next week. ---------- Each Study will then be followed by rehearsal
for the choir at 7:30.
I
pray you are all safe and warm and again I remind you that we are all
one day closer to Spring.
Again
I ask that if you know of someone who does not have email - that you
will pass this info along to them by giving them a call and sharing
what is here.
As
I look out the windows at the beauty of the sun shining on the snow, I
realize that even though the snow is a hardship for many it is also a
beautiful example of how God can bring beauty out of the worst of
situations when we lean on Him and celebrate the vastness of His love
for each of us.
Thankful
for each of you
Much
Love
As
I suppose most of you have surmised by now - there will be NO
WORSHIP SERVICES TOMORROW. To give you an
example of what some amounts are like around the area ---- Our
driveway has 16 - 17 inches and where it has drifted there is even
more. Belmont County is on a Level 3 Emergency order which means
emergency vehicles only. Even if that Level changes, none of us
should be out on the ice - especially with the 9 degree temps with
wind that is forecast for morning.
Let
me call your attention to some important things.
CALL
THOSE WITH NO EMAIL and
advise them of the fact that worship has been canceled. If you
are notifying someone please let me know so that I can be sure all are
covered.
Much
love - many prayers - and blessings for the day
Judy
