ICC MEMBER PASSES ON

The ICC family has lost a beloved member, Harry "Eddie" Edge, who graduated on to his place beside our Lord, March 16, 2012. Eddie's donations of pennies to the CWF helped to purchase a new candle lighter for use by our Acolytes. Eddie very much loved coming to worship service and all the special events of the church. He was an ardent fan of West Virginia University and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his wife Diane, sons Roy, Dennis, Tim, Scott, daughter Stacy & loyal dog Chico. He had eight grandchildren and 3 great-grand children. He has 2 surviving brothers, Richard "Dick" Edge and William "Bill" Edge. Plans for a memorial service are incomplete at this time.

The ICC Teens held a lock-in, fasting this weekend (February 18th and 19th) at the church. Part of the overnight was spent planning and rehearsing to conduct the Sunday Service.  Scripture readings, special music accompanied by Mikel Mayer on guitar and Kyle Gilbert on piano, and sermon were provided by all of the teen members. In conjunction with Week of Compassion, they shared with us some of the real acts of compassion they experienced during their weekend at the Disciples Mid-Winter Retreat. A BIG THANK YOU to all of our youth and their leaders, Youth Pastor Lanette Gilbert and Josh Rodgers, for leading our worship today!

On Saturday, January 28th the ICC Annual Planning Workshop was held from 8:00 am until noon. The morning started with a wonderful breakfast of pancakes, sausage, bacon (cooked by our resident Chef Fritz!). The session began with our special guest, Rev. Pastor Judy made the initial presentation with information and points she wanted covered. Breakout session followed with Elders, Diaconates, and Committees. All participants then returned for a feedback session. In the coming months there will be many new plans, ideas and changes for the coming 2012 church year.... a church that "Chooses to be ALIVE.... ICC WELCOMES TWO NEW MEMBERS

The Island Christian Church is again blessed and pleased to introduce our two newest church members. Betty Bowman and Artie Spoon professed to Jesus Christ being their Lord and Savior and asked to become members of the ICC. Betty Bowman is the wife of ICC member Butch Bowman. The ICC family welcome Betty and Artie.

2012 STARTS WITH NEW ICC MEMBERS

The new year of 2012 has gotten off to an amazing start for the ICC. FOUR, that's right, count them.... four new members joined our church during worship service on January 5th. The Parson family (pictured above: Amber, Elissabeth, Amber, Valerie and Dave) have been joining us for Sunday services and have also become very involved in the musical part of the church. Amber and Elissabeth are also active members in the church youth group. Our congregation has truly been blessed and we welcome the Parson's to our amazing church family!

ICC YOUTH GROUP CONTINUES TO GROW!!

I must share with all of you,  the gift our Island Christian Church family received from an angel. Literally. A substantial gift of cash designated specifically for our new, active youth group. It was delivered with love following our Christmas Eve service and I was blessed to be able to announce it this morning during our Christmas morning worship. It is enough to cover our youth's fees for Mid-winter youth retreat in February ..... I'm so excited I could burst. 3 youth immediately grabbed up registration blanks....all I can say is.... God hears and answers prayer in the most amazing and timely ways. GOD IS GOOD!

God Bless...... Pastor Judy
